ELENA LUNDQVIST ORTIZ (B. 1993, BASED IN HELSINGØR)
has a bachelor degree in Art History and is currently affiliated in the master programme Modern Culture at University of Copenhagen.
She works as a curator and editor at Laboratory for Aesthetics and Ecology (DK/DE), currently researching ocean and water ecologies. She is co-founder of the exhibition platform KRÆ Syndikatet in the meat packing district of Copenhagen.
The Aurora Archives (2010-2016) was a material-theoretical research project investigating the visual representation of the Earth as seen from satelite imagery, and how this is often grounded in a colonial and capitalist mode of encounter. The Archive presents a fraction of this work that counters a disembodied visual culture.
